The fine printEverything the license says (Uppbeat Basic License)Show details

You may

  • Use tracks as an individual (a 'Solo Creator') in your own videos, podcasts, livestreams, online games or apps
  • Publish on open platforms you post to yourself, such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and on your own website
  • Include sponsorships or affiliate content in your own material
  • Edit the music (cut, loop, rearrange, add effects) as long as the original stays clearly recognisable
  • Worldwide use

You may not

  • Client work, or use on behalf of a business or organisation
  • Paid advertising
  • Broadcast TV, radio, cinema or video-on-demand services
  • Using one download in more than one piece of content
  • Reselling or redistributing the files, or using them to train AI
  • Claiming the music as your own via YouTube Content ID
Credit
Required for free users every time the music is used. Each download generates a unique 'Uppbeat Credit' that can only be used for one video. The license and user agreement do not spell out the exact placement; they say you must follow Uppbeat's directions for using the credit to avoid YouTube claims.
Limits
Free account required. Pricing page advertises 3 free downloads for individual use on your own channels (the page does not say whether this resets monthly). One download covers one piece of content; creating multiple accounts to get more downloads is prohibited. Worldwide.
YouTube Content ID
You may not register the music with YouTube Content ID. Safelisting of channels (automatic claim clearing) is only for Premium/Business; free users can use Uppbeat's Claim Release tool to clear claims. Uppbeat does not guarantee you will never get a claim.
How long it lasts
Basic License: content may keep being used in material that was first published while your account/term was active. The User Agreement separately says previously downloaded content may not be used once a subscription has ended (i.e. no new use after that).

Plain-words summary by NonCopyrighted, checked 29 September 2026. The official license always wins. Official source: uppbeat.io

About

Uppbeat is a music platform built specifically for YouTubers and creators. Tracks come from independent artists and every download comes with a personal license code.

Best for: Upbeat vlogs, gaming channels, tutorials and short-form video. The catalogue is curated, so quality is consistent and styles are easy to browse by mood.

How the license works: On the free plan you get a limited number of downloads per month and you must paste the credit line and license code in your video description. The paid plan removes the credit and download limits. The license code is what clears any Content ID claim, so never skip it.

Not allowed: Using tracks without the credit and license code on the free plan, or using premium tracks without a paid plan.
