Howto share your work

Creators on NonCopyrighted download your work from your own page, not from us. That keeps you in control: you decide what is free, and every download and every credit leads back to you. Here is how to set that up in a few minutes.

SoundCloud (music and sound effects)

  1. Upload your track on soundcloud.com. Use a computer: the download setting only works in a web browser.
  2. Open the track, click Edit and go to the Permissions tab.
  3. Turn on downloads.
  4. Put your credit line in the track description, for example: Music: Night Walk by Lofi Lukas – lofilukas.com
  5. Copy the track link and paste it in our form.

Good to know: on a free SoundCloud account each track can be downloaded 100 times; Artist Pro removes that limit. Listeners must be logged in to SoundCloud to download. Expecting more downloads? Add a Google Drive or Dropbox link as well (see below).

YouTube (music, video and sound effects)

  1. Upload your track or clip in YouTube Studio.
  2. On the Details page, click Show more and under License choose Creative Commons – Attribution. This tells everyone they may reuse it if they credit you. The option is not available if the video has a Content ID claim.
  3. YouTube has no download button, so put a download link (Google Drive, Dropbox or your own site) and your credit line at the top of the description.
  4. Paste the video link in our form. We embed it on your page, so people can listen or watch right away.

Important: do not register tracks you share for free in Content ID. Many music distributors do this automatically, so check your settings. Claims on creators’ videos are the fastest way to lose their trust. New to this? Read What is Content ID?

Google Drive or Dropbox (any file type)

  1. Put your files in one folder, together with a short text file that holds your license and credit line.
  2. Share the folder with “Anyone with the link can view”.
  3. Paste that link as your download link in our form.

This works for music, photos, fonts, graphics and templates, and nobody needs an account to download.

Photos, fonts and graphics

Use a Google Drive or Dropbox folder, or your own website. Add your credit line to the folder, for example: Photo by Anna Berg – annaberg.com. Creators paste it in their caption or in the alt text of the image.

Checklist before you list

  • Downloads are switched on, or a download link is in the description
  • Your credit line is easy to find and includes a link
